On March 14, the silk-making process upgrade and renovation project at Qingdao Cigarette Factory—undertaken by China Haisum under an EPC contract—officially commenced with a groundbreaking ceremony. Zhang Yuansheng, Vice Chairman of the Qingdao Municipal Committee of the CPPCC and Party Secretary of Laoshan District; Zhang Yuanming, Deputy Party Secretary and District Mayor of Laoshan District; Fu Jun, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy General Manager of China Tobacco Shandong Industrial Co., Ltd.; and Zhao Guo'ang, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of Poly Sinolight and Chairman of China Haisum, attended the ceremony.
Zhang Yuansheng officially announced the commencement of the project, after which Zhao Guo'ang and other attending leaders jointly launched its construction. Zhang Yuanming, on behalf of the Laoshan District Party Committee and Laoshan District People's Government, extended congratulations on the project launch, and Fu Jun delivered remarks on behalf of the Party Leadership Group of China Tobacco Shandong Industrial.
Li Shijun, Party Secretary and President of China Haisum, delivered remarks as a representative of the project contractor. He noted that China Haisum brings over 70 years of deep-rooted expertise in the light industry and more than half a century of experience in tobacco engineering design. Against the backdrop of the tobacco industry's transition toward mid- to high-end development, the company will leverage intelligent manufacturing to lead the development of smart engineering and promote the integration of manufacturing and services through digital and intelligent transformation. It will also attract top talent to continuously sharpen its full-industry-chain service capabilities in tobacco engineering by carrying forward innovative tobacco process technologies. All-out efforts will be made to deliver the project as an intelligent manufacturing benchmark for the tobacco sector, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of China Tobacco Shandong Industrial and Qingdao Cigarette Factory.
Upon completion, the project is expected to elevate the technical standards of the silk-making process, boost production efficiency, and build up refined management and control capabilities. It will provide strong momentum for Qingdao Cigarette Factory to achieve its goal of becoming a leading intelligent cigarette manufacturing entity and a benchmark within the tobacco industry, while also contributing to the high-quality economic and social development of Laoshan District.
